When outdoor time may be limited due to inclement weather, why not head to the New Fairfield Public Library for some fun and educational activities during free time? There is something available for most age groups.
WEE ONES: 10:30 -11:00am – even the youngest crowds between 12-23 months can socialize as they enjoy stories and songs. Registration required.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 4:30 pm children in grades 1 and up can try their hand at making candy sushi. Registration required.
TALES FOR TWO: 10:30-11:00am – ages 24-35 months: stories, songs and a craft. Registration required.
FUN WITH RHYTHM: 10:30 am for children 3 years old and up: Ed Leonard, singer/song-writer will teach children some music and rhythm as he plays his guitar and engages his students in interactive games. Another name for this program is “Silly Sing-a-Long”. Registration required. Can join one or all sessions on 2/10, 2/17, 2/24 (started on 2/3).
DROP IN STORY TIME/STAY AND PLAY: 10:30 am – open to all ages: stories, music and movement. Every Thursday unless school is closed.
LEGO ROBOTICS: 4:30 – 6:00pm: for children in grades 2-5: this program requires registration and there is a fee. The dates are 2/5, 2/12 and 2/19 with 2/26 as a snow date, if needed. The program was designed by the MIT Media Lab to introduce children at a young age to the concepts of building and computer programming. Construction will be done on computers with colorful Lego bricks, electric motors and sensors. Call 203-312-5633 for registration and pricing.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 6 IS “TAKE YOUR CHILD TO LIBRARY DAY”! maybe it’s a good time to get a first library card for your child, or just enjoy the reading, puzzles or other activities offered there, such as:
FIRST SATURDAY STORY TIME: February 6, 11:00-11:30: children of all ages are invited for stories and fun with Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Hannan. Registration required.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13th: SAT PRACTICE TEST – 10:30am – 2:30pm: open to all interested in taking a full SAT practice exam under test conditions. Registration is required. If signed up, lease bring number 2 pencils, calculators and a light snack.
